Tips for earning and utilizing energy

While there is money and gold bars and of course the coveted city cash the true currency in Cityville is energy. Without it nothing much can happen.  I have put together some tips that I have learned over time that have helped me and others who have asked me for advice thrive in this game. Read on I you feel it would be helpful.

Farming

We realize that all crops produce collections but some collections produce energy. Crops that produce energy include
  • Pumpkin collection
  • Cranberry collection

It is more than worth the time and money to expand your farms and storage capacity to around 60 plots of land for crops and spend the money and energy to build “stix” barns. When you have a chance upgrade to Grain elevators. Grain Elevators are a reward for completing a collection with the trains. Plant things that give a lot of goods so that you do not have to farm too often and save your energy for something else.

Businesses based collections that give you energy
  • St Patricks day collection gives three energies (Collect from St Patricks day themed businesses Fiddle shop and Irish bars)
  • Early riser collection
  • Game collection Collect from Toy store
  • Watering hole collection Collect items from (tavern and pool hall)
  • Convenience Store Collection (Collect from corner store)
  • Retail collection (Collect from Grocery store and department store)
  • Italian Cuisine Collection (Collect from from Italian restaurant, Pizza Place)

Prioritize on your businesses based on money and collections they produce
If you have a lot of businesses to supply causing you to need more energy than you think you can gain than knock out some of them or many of them for that matter. KEEP friends franchises bc they supply themselves at least once a day and in turn give you energy. I like having one of everything at least but that’s just me.

With the businesses you have left use major decorations to up their value. Arboretums, rocky hills, give you 20% and 16% bonuses respectively. Also HQ which many people have off in a corner increases your profits by 28 %.Surround them with businesses and them fill in the blanks with as many smaller decorations as possible topiaries, flowers puppies until there is not one inch of space around them that does not add at least 1%. I have my Hqs surrounded by high grossing business and they really rake it in. With 15-20 business you can so a lot of damage.

  • To see a really good example of this check out the player Blogon Cherry.
  • If you do not have a lot of money or franchises right now another way to raise funds quickly is the business square concept. This is sort of the opposite of the approach above. Put businesses in a square with room for an arboretum in the middle of them and place one in the center. It will increase the amount of money made at each business by 16 percent. Check the link below to see how it looks and works.

Speaking of businesses

Franchise, Franchise, Franchise.
Spend the money to franchise and supply the franchises every day.Collect every day. We all have a limit of 26 franchises so we can't all add each others businesses but there are always others looking for more neighbors. Which brings me to the next point. You are only limited by a lack of looking. New players always need businesses in their cities.

Visit neighbors
Keep in mind that every 24 hours you can visit a neighbor and get one energy for it. Even without the energy you benefit from being able to graze crops. Bring in 5 crops and that is 75 goods you don’t have to spend energy on.

Visiting neighbors also helps them build exp points which we all know eventually gives you 30 energy.

Add neighbors
  1. take a look at who is reading the note and add each other
  2. Ask your neighbors and friends to recommend you to their friends and neighbors who play
  3. Visit cityville Neighbors, cityville daily players, and other cityville sites on FB and you will find many people who want neighbors.
  • New neighbors give 3 energies on their first visits

Keep in mind that you can still receive energy, so send it and ask for it as usual. When you run out click to receive 15 and use them. It won’t last for even in the in box but it will be there for a while I usually only accept my energy once a day as it is.

When you receive energy give back 3 more and not 1. Your neighbors will really appreciate it if you do so.

If you work with these tips and  everybody visits your neighbors regularly to help out we will all thrive.
